A new smart logistics marketplace, named HashMove, was unveiled to the world on Wednesday on the first day of prestigious Knowledge Summit 2018 in Dubai.

HashMove is transforming logistics by introducing a smart multimodal logistics marketplace connecting shippers and logistics providers to simplify the experience of shipping goods. HashMove’s marketplace for logistics gives users the ability to search, view pricing, book shipments, and track goods in real-time, across multiple logistics providers.

Leading technology and innovation experts from across the world are participating in the Summit, which is one of the most sought-after summits in the world. The Summit is a global knowledge platform that brings together prominent decision-makers, academics, and experts from various sectors, to engage in constructive discussions, explore best practices, and propose solutions to address future challenges. This year, more than 100 experts and decision makers from all around the world are participating in the Summit.

Sharing the details, Sarfaraz Alam, Co-founder and CEO of HashMove, said that the marketplace is bringing a smart solution to one of the most complicated sectors. “We have given the smartest and simplest solution to such a difficult yet a trillion-dollar industry,” he said.

Alam said he feels proud that HashMove is a made-in-UAE product. “Innovation like HashMove proves that Dubai is the best place for innovators and disruptive technologies,” he said. “An event like the Knowledge Summit, where the best ingenious minds sit together, is an ideal place to share our innovation which will revolutionise the logistics industry.” The marketplace will formally launch early next year. It promises to usher in a revolution in the logistics industry.

Speaking in a panel discussion on “Digital Economy and Knowledge Economy: Rivalry or Alliance,” Alam articulated that smart cities do not only mean using the highest and most modern technologies. “Smart city means using technology in a manner that it augments the services provided to the citizens, brings ease of business and facilities to the people enabling them to conduct daily tasks in a simplistic yet effective manner,” said Alam.

Responding to a question, Alam said that Dubai is the perfect example of governments turning to smart solutions to conduct businesses.

“This has helped not only governments but also its people to become more productive. Dubai has already developed the infrastructure that many countries are still dreaming about, and this has led to its tremendous growth towards a digital economy,” he said.
